Welcome to Cheltenham Chargers Basketball Club

From a handful of children playing basketball in a local park to a thriving club with over 200 members – our journey is all about community, opportunity and a shared love of basketball.

​

Founded in 2020 during lockdown by a small group of passionate parents, Cheltenham Chargers has grown into a friendly, inclusive and ambitious youth basketball club at the heart of the Cheltenham community.

​

Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, we provide basketball opportunities for children and young people aged 6 to 18, welcoming players of all abilities and backgrounds. Whether you’re picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to develop your skills and compete at a higher level, there’s a place for you at Chargers.

​

With eight age-group squads competing in local and national leagues, a dedicated All Girls Basketball programme and our popular Sunday Community Basketball sessions, we’re committed to making basketball more accessible and creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game.

But Chargers is about more than basketball.

We’re proud to provide a supportive environment where young people can build confidence, develop friendships, learn teamwork and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of being active.

As we continue to grow, our ambition remains simple: to inspire more young people to play basketball, develop their potential and become part of the Chargers family.
